Finance experts gather for international CSR conference

Cardiff Business School proudly hosted the International Conference on ‘CSR, the Economy and Financial Markets’ on 7-8 November 2024.
Co-organised by the Cardiff Corporate Governance Research Group and the Global Finance Journal, the event continued its global legacy following successful editions in Chicago, Tokyo, and Düsseldorf.
Event highlights
Keynote speakers provided thought-provoking sessions on the following topics:
- Alex Edmans (London Business School): Responsible Investing: Evidence from the Field
- Richard Barker (University of Oxford and International Sustainability Standards Board): Setting Global Standards for Sustainability Reporting
- Amir Amel-Zadeh (Saïd Business School, Oxford): Sustainability in Financial Markets
The programme featured 36 presentations, a panel discussion on Sustainable Finance attended by a live online audience from Chicago, and a memorable gala dinner held at Cardiff Castle. Sessions addressed critical issues and themes such as innovation, climate change, directors, risk/disaster, and media and misconduct.
A fireside chat with journal editors provided attendees with unique insights into academic publishing. The speakers included:
