11 October 2024

Yellow trophy placed on top of a podium.

The Times Good University Guide 2025 has once again ranked the School of Welsh first in Wales and in the UK for Celtic Studies for a third consecutive year.

This result adds to a successful year for the School, which is also ranked first in Wales and in the UK for Celtic Studies in The Complete University Guide 2025.

Dr Dylan Foster Evans, Head of the School of Welsh, said: "It’s a pleasure to see the School of Welsh’s excellent work being recognised in terms of our learning, research and wider impact. I would like to thank the students and staff for their dedication and enthusiasm for Welsh as a subject – it’s an exciting, ever-changing academic field, which makes a real difference here in Wales and beyond."

Applications for entry in 2025 are now open. Prospective students can apply for undergraduate degree programmes in Welsh, or Welsh and another subject, through UCAS. Candidates interested in the MA in Welsh and Celtic Studies must apply directly to the University.
