Genevre graduates this year with a BSc in Diagnostic Radiography and Imaging after first completing the Pathway to Healthcare
Genevre Wilsher was inspired to study BSc in Diagnostic Radiography and Imaging after many visits to the radiology department with her baby son Max, who is now 14.
Genevre graduates this year after first completing the Pathway to Healthcare at Lifelong Learning, which is an alternative route for adult learners to access degree studies at Cardiff University.
Genevre who is 48 and lives in Whitchurch, Cardiff commented:
“The excellent service and care we received from the staff in the radiology department, inspired me to change career, so that in the future, I could look to help those in a similar position and others going through their own challenging time.
“The Pathway made me challenge myself and put me in positions outside of my comfort zone, I have built confidence and also gained valuable skills and experience that can transfer to many aspects of my life and career.
“I would definitely recommend it. It has been a lot of hard work, and sometimes very difficult to juggle a busy family life with my studies and placement time, but the result is definitely worth it, and the prospect of starting a job in my new chosen career in September is exhilarating”
Dr Catherine Phelps, Pathways Coordinator at Lifelong Learning commented:
“Our Pathways programme provides an opportunity for adult learners to study a degree. This is a flexible and accessible route for those who have work and family commitments and a chance to make dreams become a reality for those wanting to change career. We congratulate Genevre and wish her luck in her future career”
