Graduation 2024 – marking memorable milestones
16 July 2024
Graduation is a proud milestone, celebrated as a graduating cohort.
Ceremonies recognise achievements collectively and individually, in the warmth of the company of fellow graduates, guests, staff, alumni and Honorary Fellows.
In a memorable highlight, graduates celebrate together with staff, guests and loved ones, toasting achievements amid the festival vibes of reception events at Graduation Gardens.
Across the University’s 20+ ceremonies in graduation week 9 new Honorary Fellows are being recognised for their contribution to society.
Among the alumnae receiving the Fellowship are consultant breast surgeon and winner of The Great British Sewing Bee 2023 Asmaa Al-Allak (MBBCh 2000, LLM 2021) award-winning broadcaster and journalist Emma Barnett (PgDip 2007) and women’s health expert, investigative journalist and documentary maker Kate Muir (PgDip 1986) known for her ground-breaking work on the menopause with Davina McCall.
Ceremonies are shown live at the Students' Union, with live broadcasts via YouTube and Weibo for friends and family unable to attend. Recent ceremonies remain available online.
The 2024 graduation ceremony for the School of English, Communication and Philosophy took place on Tuesday 16 July at Utilita Arena as part of Graduation Week (15 – 19 July 2024).
