Festival of Social Science

A member of the CUREMeDE team, Simon Johns recently took part in the 2023 Festival of Social Science, marking the 75th NHS anniversary, and supporting the theme of Lifelong wellbeing. The festival featured many interactive events across the UK, emphasising social science's impact.
Simon presented on his research on developing and evaluating mental health and wellbeing programmes in schools, engaging in sessions for students and adults in Cardiff and Swansea University, and taking part in an insightful, expert panel discussion at Bangor University on the importance of collaboration, research, and wellbeing.
The Pembrokeshire event, led and organised by Simon, gathered educators and wellbeing advisors from across Wales. The day showcased some actionable insights for wellbeing in schools and highlighted social sciences' important role in enhancing health and wellbeing in education and society.
