Presenting our dental research

This year has seen Alison Bullock continue to present to various dental education audiences.

Most recently (24 July 2023) she was invited by the General Dental Council (GDC) to present findings to an external audience on CUREMeDE’s evaluation of the enhanced CPD scheme. This was an online event attended mainly by CPD providers and the organiser thanked Alison for the ‘excellent piece of work and presentation’. The GDC will be using the research findings and the audience’s comments in their consideration of improvements to their guidance and processes.

Prior to this Alison gave an invited presentation at the Committee of Postgraduate Dental Deans and Directors (COPDEND) Oral Health Educator Conference held online o 1 June 2023. Her presentation on measuring the educational impact on the quality of care was very well received; feedback included ‘very helpful talk’ ‘very insightful’ ‘great sets of refs for the evidence base’ ‘thank you…excellent’ ‘great presentation and thought-provoking content’ ‘excellent talk’ ‘really useful, thank you so much’ ‘very stimulating’.

Earlier in the year she gave an invited presentation to NHS Education Scotland (28 April 2023) on the challenge of determining educational impact. Again, this was much enjoyed by the audience that included a range of healthcare professional educators.

The team will also be presenting our work at this year's Association for Dental Education in Europe (ADEE) conference in Liverpool on the 23rd - 25th August.
