Video: Laffan on Irish EU journey

Professor Brigid Laffan delivered the 2023 Annual Lecture for the Irish Association for Contemporary European Studies (IACES).

Giada Lagana, a lecturer who is affiliated to Cardiff University’s Wales Governance Centre, introduced the lecture in her role as President of IACES.

Professor Laffan, who previously gave an acclaimed annual lecture for the Wales Governance Centre, addressed the topic of 50 years of Ireland’s membership of the European Union, reflecting on the state’s remarkable and transformational relationship with the rest of the EU.
