Students vote our engineering courses among the best in the UK
20 July 2022
The School of Engineering's electrical and electronic engineering course takes the top spot for student satisfaction, as the latest National Student Survey (NSS) results are revealed.
The NSS is one of the largest surveys of its kind in the UK. It asks students questions about a range of factors related to their academic experience, including the teaching on their course, assessment and feedback, and how well courses are organised.
This year’s survey has ranked our electrical and electronic engineering course as the best in the country, with 95% overall satisfaction scores given by our students. Our integrated engineering course also rated highly among our student engineers, with 92% satisfaction scores. Overall satisfaction among all of our undergraduate students was also high, at 82 per cent.
This result demonstrates the collective efforts of our teaching staff, professional service staff especially our teaching office, technical staff, and all the support from our research students.
Professor Jianzhong Wu, Head of School, said: "We’re delighted to have been recognised by our students as delivering some of the best learning and teaching in the country. I am grateful to our dedicated staff for their hard work in achieving this fantastic result.
“I would like to thank all of the students who took the time to leave us feedback. Listening to the views of our students is so important in helping us to continuously develop and improve our student experience. The results of the National Student Survey provide a valuable insight into what our students need so we can focus our efforts for the future.”
Congratulations to all in the School of Engineering who have helped us to achieve this brilliant result.
