The EPSRC Indoor Air Quality in Primary Schools Project had a dissemination event in late March to present the project updates.

During the event, the project team, Dr Gabriela Zapata-Lancaster and Miltiadis Ionis presented updates about monitoring data and lessons learned from the engagement workshops with pupils and teachers.

The pupils from Abercanaid Primary School, one of the participated schools, shared their experiences in the project and what they have learned in the interactive workshops 'Building Doctors' and 'Healthy Comfortable classrooms in energy efficient ways'.  Pupils said that enjoyed discussing about building aspects that affect sustainability and taking measurements themselves about temperature and CO2 levels in their own classrooms. You can hear them reflect on their experiences in our film:

The team are very pleased to announce that the project will be extended until January 2023 to deliver the 'Schools as Living Labs' stage.  New schools and interested parties are welcome to take part of workshops and participatory activities to discuss and reflect on how to promote good indoor environmental conditions in classrooms in energy efficient ways and also how children can engage with monitoring data to learn about energy and sustainability in buildings.
