Seven go to Abergavenny Writing Festival
Creative writing staff and students are making their mark at Abergavenny Writing Festival this spring.
Creative writing tutor Bob Walton delivers a unique workshop blending words and textiles, while six postgraduate stories deliver their first outing in their new company ShareUrScribble.
With his second collection Sax Burglar Blues out with Seren, creative writing tutor Bob Walton is collaborating in Text and Textiles, giving participants the opportunity to create original work on textile materials in a unique writing and making workshop led led jointly with textile artist Jan Thomas at the Wool Croft.
ShareUrScribble, formed by Creative Writing MA students Ellie Courtman, Abbie Dix, Claire Griffiths, Elizabeth Lewendon, Brian Nelis and Kirsty Richards, has devised a poetry and spoken word open mic for all ages and levels of experiences.
In TalknTales, members of the public get to share their work in bite-size slots of two to three minutes as part of the finale as part of the festival’s Finale Shebang, featuring Welsh-Bajan singer-songwriter Kizzy Crawford and poets Des Mannay and Lily Sequoia (Melville Centre for the Arts finale tickets £12).
Three-day Abergavenny Writing Festival runs from Thursday 7th April to Saturday 9 April at venues across the town.
