Grangetown World Market returned to Grange Pavilion for the holidays
3 February 2022
After a long pause due to the pandemic, Grangetown World Market finally re-launched at Grange Pavilion for three markets throughout November and December 2021.
Many Grangetown residents attended, as well as local people from local surrounding neighbourhoods, creating a fantastic energy inside the Pavilion as everyone browsed the selection of stalls at the markets. The Hideout café served up hot drinks, fresh soup and cakes for those wanting to warm up from the cold winter weather.
There were around fifteen different stalls on each date selling items such as handmade candles and jewellery, personalised t-shirts, festive bouquets, and delicious food. The Grange Pavilion Youth Forum CIC also had a stall and raised money to help support their projects with young people.
Steve Duffy, Grangetown Community Action and Grangetown News, said:
“It has been a very frustrating and challenging period for everyone, but we were glad we could at least have the opportunity to put on some limited events. The markets were well supported and it was a relief just to get them going again. I think it also showed the versatility and potential of the Pavilion, which bodes well for the future. It's an amazing space, inside and out, so hopefully the market can really establish itself in 2022 and we can really showcase the talented craftspeople, designers and producers who live locally.”
We are delighted to announce that the Grangetown World Market will be returning to Grange Pavilion for a regular Saturday slot from spring 2022. Keep your eye out for updates over at @Grange_Pavilion and @GtownWM
