50 Years after Bloody Sunday: Webinar to reflect on legacy

A Public Interview with leading academics will examine the legacy of Bloody Sunday, 50 years after the events which shaped the course of the conflict in Northern Ireland.
Cardiff University’s Wales Governance Centre and School of Law and Politics will host the event on February 23rd, where Professor Niall Ó Dochartaigh, professor of Political Science at the National University of Ireland Galway (NUIG), and Dr Charlotte Barcat, Lecturer in British History at the University of Nantes (France), will introduce archival and interview research into the events and their legacy.
Dr Giada Lagana, Dr Jonathan Kirkup and Dr Thomas Leahy of Cardiff University will conduct the webinar and Public Interview, which will examine the political context and the ongoing UK Government response to Bloody Sunday, along with the implications for peace-building and constitutional democracy in Northern Ireland.
