Systematic Review with ULS authors in top 5% of all research outputs ever tracked by Altmetric

A systematic review on aspirin and cancer survival, led by Professor Peter Elwood and with two ULS authors, Delyth Morris (Subject Librarian, School of Medicine) and Alison Weightman (Specialist Unit for Review Evidence, SURE), has had a big impact according to Altmetric.  The Altmetric database measures how often research articles are discussed and used across the globe, including in policy documents, blogs, media outlets and mentions on social media.

In the four weeks since the review’s publication it has been viewed 7299 times and mentioned in 18 news outlets, two blogs, 56 tweets and two facebook pages.  The review’s ‘Score’ of 171 places it in the top 5% of all research outputs scored by Altmetric.
