We are here to support you
It is great to see many Cardiff University researchers access our COVID-19 Secure facility to undertake flow cytometry, real-time PCR work and much more. Have a look at our website to see our complete range of services, including gaining access to technical and quality management expertise. We will continue to follow the latest Cardiff University and Welsh Government guidance regarding working in our facility. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding access.
Managed service work is thriving!
We are very pleased to be busy undertaking managed service work for a wide range of external businesses and academic institutions. Maybe Meso Scale Discovery biomarker assays could help your research too? They provide a rapid and convenient method for measuring the levels of single or multiple targets within a single, small-volume sample. Or how about watching these ImageStream videos to get inspired how to use imaging flow cytometry for your research? Many of you attended our recent events on Biacore Surface Plasmon Resonance, click on the link for a reminder on this powerful technique.
We encourage you to contact us about our services to find out how we can support you.
Training update
From flow cytometry theory to Biacore SPR, and from FlowJo software to Qiagen IPA, we have trained many internal and external researchers on a wide range of technologies and techniques in the last couple of months. Thank you to all for your active participation and positive feedback. We will continue to schedule courses, some free and some on a cost recovery basis, to support researchers as much as we can.
Congratulations to our award winner!
Charlotte James, CBS Manager and Quality Lead, won the Clinical Innovation Excellence Award at the recent Cardiff University MEDIC STAR 2020 Awards. This award recognises her exceptional contribution to Quality Management in Central Biotechnology Services and across Cardiff University College of Biomedical and Life Sciences. Congratulations Charlotte!

Thought about how high dimensional flow cytometry can support your research?
Learn here all about our new arrival, the BD FACSymphony™ A3 Cell Analyzer which is now all set up ready to be used. This powerful instrument offers 30 parameters across five lasers, enabling the use of new dyes with improved brightness and spillover characteristics. The ability to develop panels for broader phenotyping, more intense interrogation of cellular subsets and improved panels with higher resolution allows researchers to drive deeper scientific insights. Contact us to discuss how you can access this technology to support your research.
