Cardiff University remains leading healthcare education provider in Wales

Results from the latest Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) commissioning tender reaffirms Cardiff University’s position as the leading pre-registration healthcare education provider in Wales.
Cardiff University has won contracts from HEIW to deliver pre-registration healthcare education across a number of disciplines for a duration of up to 10 years.
The successful outcome will see the School of Healthcare Sciences, Cardiff University, continue to provide teaching and training to students in Adult Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, Child Nursing, Midwifery, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Diagnostic Radiography and Imaging and Radiotherapy and Oncology.
The awarded contracts will prolong the valued working relationships Cardiff University holds with its partners across Wales, including; Cardiff and Vale and Aneurin Bevan University Health Boards and Velindre University NHS Trust.

The results of the tender were released on Monday 28th June 2021 and a 10-day standstill period which followed ends today. Contracts will formally be issued ready for education delivery to begin in September 2022.
HEIW is a special health authority within NHS Wales. It sits alongside health boards and trusts, playing a leading role in the education, training, development, and shaping of the healthcare workforce in Wales.
