CUREMeDE Welcomes Shannon Costello

In 2020 CUREMeDE welcomed two new Postgraduate students. Here we welcome Shannon Costello and her work on the use of mobile technology in Healthcare.

"Hello, I’m Shannon Costello and I am currently in the first year of my PhD in the CUREMeDE team. I am a qualified social worker, and it was during this degree where I developed an interest in healthcare. I have also recently completed an MSc in Ageing Health and Disease at Cardiff University.

My PhD focuses on mobile medical technology that is being used to record patient observations in Wales and how this new technology impacts clinicians individually, and in their teams. So far it has been very interesting to explore the complexities of this topic as it is such a novel focus in the area of healthcare. I look forward to what the rest of the PhD has to offer in terms of developing my practical research skills as part of this supportive and friendly team."
