MA Architectural Design unit ‘Synergetic Landscapes’ to take part in Sustainability Week
22 February 2021
The MA AD unit ‘Synergetic Landscapes’ will be contributing to this year’s Sustainability week with a series of sessions on expanding biodiversity in gardens.
This year, Sustainability Week will take place between the 1-5 March and will be a virtual week of events for Cardiff University staff and students to inform, engage and provide practical advice on becoming more sustainable at home and at work.
As part of a programme of free events on biodiversity, the Synergetic Landscapes session will take place on the 3 March between 13:30 – 14:00. During the event academic staff from the unit will demonstrate DIY recipes for expanding biodiversity in front and back gardens. They will also reveal how people can generate bio-corridors together with their neighbours through testing the interactive app developed in Synergetic Landscapes unit of MAAD program at the Welsh School of Architecture.
The MA AD Synergetic Landscapes unit is closely linked with Cardiff University's Community Gateway project and has been working in the local community of Grangetown over the past year. The collaborative design unit aims to integrate a variety of living and non-living agents within the community in co-designing flourishing environment with and for all.
