Palliative Care course converted to online amid pandemic
2 December 2020
We're pleased to confirm that bookings for the Masters level Problem-Solving in Paediatric Palliative Care course are now open.
The course is organised by Cardiff University in collaboration with Ty Hafan Children’s Hospice and the All Wales Managed Clinical Network for Children’s Palliative Care.
Supported by the CPD Unit, the teams have collaborated to adapt the popular face to face course to online provision in order to continue offering physicians, nurses, psychologists, therapists and other professionals working with children this valuable content during the pandemic.
The course has been converted into an entirely online course. It is split into two main sections:
- 4 tutor-led taught days delivered via zoom, each a month apart
- a virtual learning environment to support reading, project development and discussion between taught days.
The course has been sensitively designed to allow delegates to have plenty of time to complete the pre-course work, providing flexible learning options at a time when we know frontline workers are facing significant challenges.
Throughout the pandemic, the Palliative Care team at the University has worked extremely hard to create and deliver new courses and webinars to support clinicans and healthcare professionals working in end of life and palliative care. Sessions have included Q&As. We have run free open access webinars:
- As part of Adult Learners' Week
- during our Virtual Summer School
- a full programme of free palliative webinars
Recordings of all sessions are available at our YouTube channel.
There are a number of CPD opportunities in the field of palliative and end of life care. View all courses or a look at our booklet to find out more:
