Dr Joanne Patterson to speak at key EU event disseminating Innovative Solutions for adapting to a Smart City
12 October 2020
Senior Research Fellow Dr Joanne Patterson from the Welsh School of Architecture was invited to be part of the Green Cities by Co-Design Partnership who have secured a Session at the European Week of Regions and Cities 2020 as part of their theme ‘Green Europe.’
The 18th European Week of Regions and Cities takes place between the 5-22 October with each week focusing on a particular theme: Empowering Citizens, Cohesion and Cooperation and Green Europe.
On 21 October Dr Patterson will speak about insights from the research that the Low Carbon Built Environment team have undertaken with a range of local authorities and social housing organisations across Wales to implement whole house, whole energy system retrofit projects. The work has involved close collaboration with residents, local authority and social housing staff and supply chains to successfully deliver low carbon, low energy and high-quality homes for the future whilst changing practices for future improvements to both existing and new build homes.
The programme of the third week of EU Regions Week is fully dedicated to the Green Europe theme, with a variety of working sessions on topics such as localizing the green deal, energy efficiency and biodiversity.
The full programme is available online now, where you can also register to attend sessions.
