Law professor speaks at Senedd St David’s Day event
20 March 2020
This March, Professor Norman Doe, was invited to speak at the Senedd, home of the National Assembly for Wales, at an event in celebration of St David’s Day.
Professor Doe delivered a talk entitled A Century of Church in Wales Ministry during an international reception held on 4 March preceding the Senedd St David’s Prayer Breakfast on 5 March.
The lecture marked the disestablishment of the Church of England in Wales and the foundation of the Church in Wales in 1920. In it, Professor Doe explored how the Church in Wales has evolved its place in Wales over the century, and what we might celebrate and, equally, lament.
Hosted by Darren Millar AM, other speakers at the event included Eluned Morgan AM, Minister for International Relations, and John Davies, Archbishop of Wales.
At the reception, Professor Doe also donated a copy of the book he edited, A New History of the Church in Wales (Cambridge, 2020) to a representative from the National Library of Wales.
