Cardiff University undergraduate Lloyd Lewis has been called up for the Wellington and Sydney legs of the HSBC Sevens World Series.
Uncapped Lloyd, who is studying for a degree in Journalism, Media and English Literature, joins the Wales Sevens squad for the next leg of the series in Wellington, New Zealand and Sydney, Australia.
Lloyd shone for Wales Under 20 last season at the World Rugby U20 Championship in Italy and helped Wales U18 beat England at St Helens, Swansea.
Wales Sevens head coach Gareth Williams said: “It’s clear Lloyd has all the attributes to be an excellent sevens player. Hopefully he will enjoy the experience and have a chance to show his skills in these global competitions.”
