Building Connections in Cardiff
29 January 2020
On the 23rd of January, the Community Gateway team attended C3SC Let’s Talk Community Groups Conference at Rhiwbina Library to help build connections between local groups and community organisations.
It was a fantastic afternoon overall, and it was a pleasure to meet all the representatives from the different organisations.
The theme of the event was promoting health and well-being opportunities across different communities in Cardiff. The afternoon included opportunities to network with other organisations, along with a series of workshops that asked us to firstly think about what health and well-being means to us individually, and then how local groups can contribute to the health and well-being of local communities.
Lastly, we looked at challenges to improving the health and well-being in local communities, with each group focusing on a specific issue and looking at concrete solutions. The Grange Pavilion team specifically looked at the issues of trust and fundraising, coming up with contributions such as creating neutral, non-judgmental spaces where individuals can connect, along with evidencing the impact that an organisation has on a community and listening to community member’s feedback.
Thank you once again to C3SC for giving us the opportunity to attend this event, and we look forward to attending more in the future!
