Welsh School of Architecture graduate launches Design Review Panel
6 December 2019
A graduate from the Diploma Professional Practice (PgDip) has launched his own Design Review Panel, which operates nationally.
Jonathan Braddick created the Design Review Panel to provide an impartial, multi-disciplinary, constructive and expert review process during the pre-application stage of the planning process to applicants and local authorities, helping to speed up and de-risk the planning process whilst improving the quality of design in the built environment.

“The postgraduate course at The Welsh school of Architecture was extremely thorough and varied, giving me an excellent understanding of a wide range of professional practice, contract administration and other industry wide matters. I feel the course gave me the basis and confidence to start and run my own architectural practice, as well as to launch a national design review panel.
I feel that it is the skills and knowledge that I gained on the Welsh School of Architecture postgraduate course that has enabled me to successfully set up and run my business & coordinate our large pool of multidisciplinary built environment experts. In order to successfully manage and chair the design review panel process, it is essential to recognise and articulate what makes good design, as well as to understand wider commercial and legislative aspects of the construction industry; these are all skills that I learnt at the Welsh School of Architecture.
The Diploma Professional Practice is directed by Professor Sarah Lupton, who also directs the new Master of Design Administration.
