Members of the Run Grangetown running group have pledged to run 365 miles each over a year to help to raise additional funds towards the new Grange Pavilion in Grangetown.

After raising £1.5m through fundraising and grants the Cardiff University Community Gateway project and local community partners and residents are well on their way to having a new community building in the heart of Grangetown. The project falls short in funding of just over £100k and local residents and groups are determined to make up this shortfall.

Moseem Suleman, one of the members of the community and the Run Grangetown running group said:

“Five of us want to raise £350 each towards the new Grange Pavilion. This will be an amazing building that will benefit the community for generations to come, as well as having an immediate impact to our existing community”

Residents have expressed their continuing support for the new building, highlighting a need for a space where the very diverse and multicultural community of Grangetown can come together and be united as a community.

Building in Grange Gardens started earlier in the year with the hope that the new Grange Pavilion will open its doors in March 2020.
