First Psychology Summer School delegates welcomed from China
17 July 2019
This week saw the first delegates from Beijing Normal University and Wuhan University arrive in Cardiff for this year’s Psychology Summer School. We welcomed around 30 students in total who will take part in a variety of fascinating lectures, workshops and social activities over the next two weeks.
The workshops will cover a wide range of topics such as forensic psychology, developmental disorders, attitudes, visual illusions, brain imaging, all with the help of our expert teaching faculty. Visitors will also experience the renowned teaching and research that is undertaken by our world-class academics.
We also welcomed staff members from both universities who met with a number of our academics to discuss student exchange and future collaborations. The talks were a great success with the Beijing National University signing a summer school agreement to strengthen future collaborations with us.
Head of the School of Psychology, Professor Petroc Sumner said: “It is a real pleasure to host our visitors from Beijing and Wuhan in Cardiff. They hosted me so well in February when I visited their universities; their staff and students were so helpful and welcoming. I hope that they very much enjoy being in Cardiff and we look forward to working with them in the future.”
