Petroleum Experts (Petex), a well-known petroleum engineering and structural geology company, have donated 10 licenses of their Move structural modelling and analysis software to the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences’ 3D Seismic Laboratory.

The donation of this software has a commercial equivalent value of £1,334,160.00. These licenses will be used to support postgraduate research projects. Move software has been used in over 30 international publications for the past 5 years, and in master’s and undergraduate projects. At Cardiff, the software has primarily been used to model fault reactivation and associated fluid flow at distinct scales of analysis.
