Brain Games is back

The annual event, running for the sixth year, will mark the beginning of the University’s involvement in Brain Awareness Week and British Science Week. Aimed at families with children aged 7-11, the free event brings together a variety of fun and educational activities to teach children about the wonders of the human brain.

Dr Emma Lane, a senior lecturer within the Neuroscience and Mental Health Research Institute, said “Brain Games aims to inspire a new generation of scientists as well as providing an opportunity for people to learn more about the research being carried out across Cardiff University.

“You can expect to find weird and wonderful games including sensory illusions, a giant inflatable brain and for budding young scientists even a DIY Brain Surgery workshop. This free interactive day showcases the mystery of the human brain.”

The event will run from 11am – 4pm on Sunday 10 March and is open to all. Each child will receive a programme with information on each of the games and brain-related puzzles.
