PARC attends iLEGO event
21 January 2019
Some of the team from PARC attended the ILEGO (Innovation Lean Effective Green Operations) workshop on 15th January 2019 at the Executive Education Suite at Cardiff Business School.
The speakers represented a wide variety of industries and the structure of the event let to a seamless inter-mingling between government, industry, academia and consultancy.
The first three sessions saw representatives from Welsh government, Accenture and Ocado presenting their thoughts on how companies can valorise their waste products. The growing momentum we have seen in recent years when it comes to sustainability mean that the topic is now at the forefront of everyone’s minds.
The keynote speech from Sophie Howe, Future Generations Commissioner for Wales, detailed the steps being taken in Wales today to promote sustainable business in accordance with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. But she stressed that we still have a way to go. For more information visit Future Generations Wales.
Speakers from WRAP Cymru and the Ministry of Furniture finished off the day with some fascinating examples of real-life sustainability projects in Wales.
The workshop was a great success and PARC would like to congratulate and thank Dr Maneesh Kumar, Dr Vasco Sanchez Rodriguez and Nadine Leder for managing the event.
