Lord Heseltine to deliver Hadyn Ellis Distinguished Lecture
12 November 2018
Former Deputy Prime Minister and key critic of the campaign to exit the EU, the Rt. Hon. Lord Michael Heseltine will deliver this year’s Hadyn Ellis Distinguished Lecture.
Taking place on Wednesday 28 November 2018, the lecture 'Brexit: an update' will see Lord Heseltine draw on his vast political experience as he critically evaluates the draft withdrawal treaty and the impact this will have for the future of the country.
Lord Heseltine will draw upon his lifetime in politics as he considers such crucial questions as: What will the withdrawal terms mean for future UK trade? What will it mean for the union between the four UK nations? Will the proposals be able to secure sufficient political support to be ratified by Parliament?
The Hadyn Ellis Distinguished Lecture Series occurs once a year in memory of the former Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Cardiff University, Professor Hadyn Ellis CBE. Professor Ellis innovated in the discipline of cognitive neuropsychiatry and played a key role in establishing Cardiff University as one of the leading research universities in the UK.
'Brexit: an update' will be delivered at the Julian Hodge lecture theatre on 28 November 2018 commencing at 18.30.
The event is now sold out. The University is operating a waiting list for returned tickets.
