European simulation project resources for nursing
28 September 2018
The School of Healthcare Sciences at Cardiff University is currently involved in a 3 year European Erasmus strategic Partnership for Higher Education funded project to develop simulation education resources for adult nursing students.
The partnership project known as iSPAD (Innovative – simulation pedagogy for academic development) began in December 2016 and will complete in August 2019.
In June 2018 the School hosted an information seminar to share progress so far with relevant clinical and academic colleagues across South East Wales. In addition, two guests from Portsmouth University attended to speak about simulation in nurse education.
Carrie Hamilton, an executive board member of the Association of Simulated Practice in Healthcare (ASPiH) and Director of Education at SimComm Academy, praised the work of the project so far.
The next phase will be implementing the resource and evaluating as part of a realist evaluation research project. This is an exciting opportunity for multi-centre research into simulation education.
The information seminar was recorded and is available on the Malta University web pages.
