Winner of the President's Poster Prize at BAP
5 August 2015
Our very own Wellcome Trust PhD Researcher, Lucy Sykes, scooped the President's Poster Prize this year at the British Association of Psychopharmacology (BAP) summer meeting in July.
Presenting her poster on ‘L-type voltage gated calcium channels are necessary for the consolidation of associative memory, extinction and latent inhibition’ Lucy's was one of around 180 posters presented by PhD students and post-doctoral researchers from both academia and industry, covering a variety of areas of interest including, schizophrenia, affective disorders, neurodegeneration, addiction and anxiety.
"Presenting at this conference was a really valuable experience, both for communicating my own research and getting novel insights and feedback, but also to see the broad range of exciting research that is going on across the field.
I would encourage anyone to submit a poster for this conference. It is a really friendly meeting and is an interesting amalgamation of research from academia and industry. On receiving my award I was introduced to a multitude of people which has opened up some exciting avenues for collaborations in the future. I am really honoured to receive this award and I’m looking forward to attending the conference again next year," commented Lucy.
Our huge congratulations to Lucy from all of us here at the NMHRI.
