Scandinavian links forged

Cardiff medieval historians and archaeologists are to attend a range of Scandinavian talks and lectures this Autumn, forging further links at international conferences.
With research interests in International relations and medieval diplomacy, Early medieval legal history and Medieval Scandinavia, Dr Jenny Benham is to visit Denmark and Sweden this autumn.
Co-founder of Voices of Law: Language, Text and Practice Jenny is to host a workshop for this international scholarly network in Copenhagen, Denmark (9 September).
Jenny is also co-organiser of international conference Law and Language in the Middle Ages, taking place on 10-11 September at the Royal Academy of Science and Letters in Copenhagen.
Professor of Archaeology John Hines is also an invited speaker, giving the paper: The regulation of payment and value in the Old English laws: a pilot study of 'gieldan' and related terms at the conference.
Later in the year Jenny will speak on Crime and Outlawry in Östgötalagen: A European Perspective at the international conference Legal Culture in the Medieval North in Stockholm [11-12 November].
