Community Gateway, of which the Welsh School of Architecture's (WSA) Mhairi McVicar is academic lead, is one of the University's five flagship engagement projects, otherwise known as its Transforming Communities programme. Community Gateway is committed to building a long-term partnership with residents of Grangetown to help make the area an even better place by developing world class research, teaching and volunteering opportunities which respond to local needs.

Led by WSA Senior Lecturer and Director of Engagement Mhairi McVicar, Community Gateway aims to develop long-term, equal and mutually beneficial partnerships between Cardiff University and Grangetown residents and those organisations which serve them. We welcome expressions of interest for ideas from staff and students across Cardiff University and from Grangetown representatives for mutually beneficial research, live teaching projects, or volunteering and engagement activities.
