22 May 2015
Supported by the College’s EU team, the Energy Systems Research Institute has held a networking event in Brussels to encourage new links between academia and business.
The event, which attracted 90 attendees, brought together expertise from across the sector to discuss opportunities ahead of the next round of Horizon 2020 work programmes.
The two-day event, entitled Opening Energy Horizons: Getting ready for success in the new Horizon 2020 work programmes (2018-2020) explored the crucial role that citizens play in changing energy systems. It focused on the core topics of energy research in the next Horizon 2020 funding call, enabling stakeholders to identify areas of common interest and to support emerging collaborations.
The College has had a good run of successful Horizon 2020 projects, with six proposals being awarded a total of €2,634,363. Looking forwards, the College is working with 40 prospective MSCA Fellowship applications and 15 prospective ERC Starting Grant applications.
