Welcoming Anita Braine to the team
15 June 2018
We are very pleased to welcome Anita Braine on secondment as the newest member of the CPD team. She will be working alongside Jessica Gasson, Project Officer for the China Scholarship Council (CSC) programme, which starts at Cardiff University this week.
Anita is joining us on secondment from her permanent position in the Centre for Education Innovation.
She will be helping to facilitate a full-time bespoke three month programme that has been specifically designed for 106 delegates from across Chinese universities.
We had a chat with Anita to find out more about her background and experience.
“I joined Cardiff University in the Centre for Education Innovation just over 18 months ago, after spending most of my career in the private sector. After being made redundant from a long-term position at a local insurance call centre, I worked as a fundraising manager in the third sector for two years. I also looked after a volunteering service that helped cancer patients with everyday tasks in their homes.
I was interested in working in the CPD unit as I thought it could help to broaden my knowledge and experience of the University, and gain an understanding of organising events.
I’m really excited to have the opportunity to work on the CSC programme, which will be the largest event I’ve worked on so far!”
The delegates will be arriving in the UK on 21st and 22nd June to take part in a 12-week programme focussing on management and innovation. The delegates are all mid to senior level university staff, and take part in the CSC programme to learn and share ideas with senior staff from Cardiff University.
It is the third annual event in association with Cardiff University and is set to be the largest programme yet, with 106 delegates attending. Find out more about this programme, and Cardiff University’s other bespoke provision here.
