World Cancer Day - thank you!
9 June 2015
Staff at the European Cancer Stem Cell Research Institute were delighted and humbled by the generosity of supporters following the recent World Cancer Day fundraising appeal back in February.
A number of individual and group donations have enabled the Institute to purchase several new pipette controllers, which are fundamental to the research taking place within the tissue culture suites.
Laboratory Manager, Mark Bishop said:- "Pipette controllers are essential pieces of equipment for our day-to-day activities, but they are also quite expensive—for example, just one controller costs nearly £300. It is donations such as the ones that came in following World Cancer Day that mean we can keep our equipment at the cutting edge, just like the research we are conducting. Donations really do make a difference, so we want to say a big thank you to all who gave."
