Chemistry students show off their film-making skill
8 June 2015
All third year MChem Chemistry students were asked to produce a five-minute video on a chemically related topic, as part of their training in presentation skills. You can watch some of the results on our YouTube channel.
Dr Chris Morley, Deputy Head of the Cardiff School of Chemistry, said: "All the staff of the School have been really impressed by the very high standard of these videos. The technical ability, imagination and enthusiasm that our students have displayed are truly exceptional. Who said that only particle physicists make good science communicators?!"
Dr Dayna Mason, the Royal Society of Chemistry's Education Coordinator for Wales, added: "I really enjoyed watching these videos. The students have shown great creativity in both their choice of topics and their delivery. It's important for every scientist to be able to communicate to a variety of audiences and this project is great training for this."
Prizes for the best videos were awarded to Charlotte Hayre and Darren Ould, so particular congratulations to them. They each receive a cheque for £100.
