Cardiff ranked first for journalism and public relations by the Guardian

Cardiff secured a perfect Guardian score of 100/100 when assessed across criteria such as expenditure on students and a graduate's probability of finding a graduate-level job. 

When compared to 57 other UK universities and schools in the table, Cardiff's first place was built upon strong results in the National Student Survey, in which students positively endorsed the quality of teaching, the way their work was assessed and how helpful feedback was.

Dr John Jewell, Director of Undergraduate Studies at the School of Journalism, Media and Cultural Studies said, "The Guardian's recognition of our teaching environment and the dedication of our lecturers is most welcome.

"Our undergraduate programmes constantly evolve to reflect changes in journalism, the media and communications, so this outstanding result strongly acknowledges the relevance of our degrees and their success developing the academic, professional and digital literacies of our students." 

Cardiff has risen from 4th place in 2015 to now sit above Oxford Brookes, Sheffield and Nottingham Trent.

Dr Jewell continued: "While we do our utmost to provide the best environment possible to study and learn, it is our student community that must be recognised for their enthusiasm, application and commitment, which in turn makes Cardiff such a special place to be."
