Carlo Fraccalvieri, who graduated from the School of Music this summer, has recently completed a tour of the UK with one of Italy’s top jazz singers.
Carlo, a saxophonist originally from Matera, in southern Italy, toured alongside jazz vocalist Fabio Lepore.
Of the tour, Carlo said: “With his tremendous range, Fabio is able to deliver fast be-bop lines with great clarity. A superb tone on the more relaxed material is something of a revelation. I was thrilled to be able to welcome him for the tour.
“Fabio has played across the globe and he has collaborated with Dionne Warwick, Jazz Studio Orchestra, BJL Big Band to name but a few. This show covers 80 years of rich and diverse Italian music, revisiting some of the songs that have defined the Italian scene.”
Dr Daniel Bickerton, Director of Undergraduate Studies at the School of Music said: “The School of Music is delighted to hear about Carlo's wonderful tour opportunity; he was a very enthusiastic student with us with diverse interests in his music studies. He performed a memorable saxophone recital during his final year."
Joining Fabio and Carlo on stage were Eastman Guitars artist Dino Plasmati, bassist Pasquale Votino and Eddie Jones West completing the band on drums.
