Where to find help and support.

Don't hesitate to reach out if you need assistance at any point in your student life. Whether you need help with your studies, finances or personal wellbeing, we’re here to support you.

Student intranet

Once you’ve completed online enrolment and received your username and password, you’ll be able to access the student intranet. The intranet is your gateway to all the tools, applications, resources and services you’ll need to support you at university.

Personal tutor

You’ll be assigned a personal tutor at the beginning of your programme. A personal tutor is an academic member of staff from your school who’ll provide you with academic and pastoral guidance and support throughout your student life.

Student Connect

Student Connect is here to connect you to the services and support you need throughout your student life. Whether you’re looking for help with the enrolment process, need financial advice, or have concerns about your mental wellbeing, our advisers are here to help. Raise an enquiry via the Student Connect portal or visit the Centre for Student Life.

Student Mentor

Current students are in the best position to answer your questions about academic and student life at Cardiff. You’ll be matched with a student mentor from your school when you arrive.

Residence Life team

We understand living away from home for the first time can be exciting and challenging. Our Residence Life team runs a wide range of free events in university accommodation, allowing you to meet new people and chat with our Residence Life Assistants (RLA). RLA’s are current students who have lived in university accommodation and are there to support you if you’re struggling with the transition to university life.

Study skills support

We provide a wide range of classes, online tutorials and resources to help you:

  • improve your study techniques and write to a university standard
  • enhance your maths and statistics skills
  • receive study support if English isn’t your first language

Pastoral and spiritual support

Our chaplaincy is a safe and welcoming service for people of all faiths and none.

Students’ Union

The Students’ Union provides independent advice and support.
