Library support

Each of our libraries has a designated disability contact who will be happy to discuss the services available.
Staff can also assist you in finding and retrieving books, searching the library catalogue, arranging home delivery of materials and obtaining alternative formats of information.
All of the libraries provide additional assistive equipment, such as:
- alternative keyboards and mice
- video magnifiers
- height-adjustable desks.
There are also a number of assistive technology programmes available to you via our campus-networked computers to support you throughout your studies. To find out more about how these technologies can aid you, speak to one of our disability contacts in your School library.
Extended library loans
Some students are also entitled to the extended library loans service as a recommended reasonable adjustment. This means that when library books are issued and renewed, the loan periods for four-hour, three-day, one-week and two-week items are automatically doubled.
Be aware that four-week loan items will not be extended.
