Harnessing genomics to big data
The university carries out world-leading research in genomics and has access to large cohorts of genotyped and clinically assessed patients from key strategic assets such as the university’s Centre for Neuropsychiatric Genetics and Genomics, National Centre for Mental Health, the Dementia Research Institute, and Cardiff University Brain Imaging Centre.
Increasingly, we are integrating our genomic research with advanced data science approaches in partnership with the NHS, industry, and the university's Digital Transformation Innovation Institute.
Combining genomics with the power of big data has great potential to unlock new insights into the stratification of brain disorders and develop routes to personalised treatment.
