Residences - 30/04/20
We are cleaning and clearing a small number of our flats in preparation for a group of healthcare students who are going to work for the NHS. We have therefore started cleaning rooms where students advised us they had left and their room is empty or they had left belongings that they wanted to be disposed.
As part of our deep cleaning process we have needed to dispose some items from shared areas, that were unhygienic. Our intention is that any items from the kitchen/communal area that can be stored safely will be kept for flatmates to review when collecting their own belongings.
We are dealing with any students affected by this on an individual basis, apologising and recompensing where appropriate for any distress or loss incurred.
For the wider campus we would like to reassure students that we are not planning on entering bedrooms where students have advised they have left belongings. We know that students belongings are important to them and we will keep them safe until the time when they can pack and collect these items.
Once again we apologise if this situation has caused some of our students distress. We are doing our best to manage the accommodation and belongings at this unprecedented and difficult time.
