Main Building - 09/05/23

16:50: Main Building has now reopened for our staff and students. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the earlier closure.

13:52: We do not currently know the identity of the chemical spilled. Incidents like these on our campus are very rare but when they do occur, we always act immediately to ensure staff and student safety. We have no further detail to add at this time. [Issued to Wales Online]

12:39: We are aware of a chemical spill in the University’s Main Building. This is a contained incident but the building has been evacuated and temporarily closed. Emergency services are currently on site. At this stage, there are no reported serious injuries or casualties reported. A small number of people are being checked by paramedics as a precautionary measure. Main Building will remain temporarily closed until we are confident there is no risk to health and safety.
