Following a meeting with the member of staff this afternoon, a formal investigation into these allegations has been launched. As a consequence, the individual member of staff will not be undertaking any activities, until further notice. It would be inappropriate to offer any further comment until the outcome of the investigation is known.

We are aware of anonymous allegations made on social media against a current member of staff. Whilst we are unable to comment on anonymous allegations, we can confirm that we take such allegations extremely seriously and are taking appropriate action. We have policies that govern close personal relationships between staff and students. Any student with concerns can contact the University’s Disclosure Response Team, a team of specialist University staff trained to respond to such claims. A member of the Disclosure Response Team will be able to explain the different support and reporting options available, and can refer students to specialist services, if they choose.
