Patient experiences of living with chronic, nonhealing, wounds: Delivering a Year 2 SSC Experience Project Online
This presentation from the 2021 Learning & Teaching Conference describes how student selected component (SSC) experience projects have been a core element of the Medical Undergraduate (MBBCh) programme within the School of Medicine for more than 20 years. SSCs offer students a unique experience to focus on specialist aspects of medicine and healthcare, often outside of the core curriculum. This presentation shares the story of designing an SSC which would facilitate the student’s understanding of the patient experience of living with chronic, non-healing wounds, and also encourage students to value the importance of person-centred care, all within the context of digital learning provision.
