Demonstrating (supporting laboratory, practical and field work.

An introduction to demonstrating in practical, laboratory and fieldwork classes.

Demonstrators are facilitators of learning in a practical environment and work to support the course leader in achieving the aims of the class. The role may also involve assessment. Demonstrators are likely to be providing formative assessment, in other words, giving feedback to learners on their skills and practices.

This resource includes a personal preparation checklist for new demonstrators. It also lists the key skills expected from demonstrators, and provides teaching development materials.
