Peer Reviews
About this topic
Peer Review of Learning and Teaching (PRLT) is an annual requirement for all Cardiff University staff with significant learning and teaching duties.
A key aspect of continuing professional development, PRLT is underpinned by an ongoing cycle of learning cycle of reflection, development and enhancement. It is essential for PRLT to be recognised as a supportive process that is beneficial for reviewer and reviewee alike; with constructive dialogue providing opportunity for disseminating best practice and encouraging increased evidence based enhancements.
PRLT is intended to be a flexible process with the ability to reflect upon the full range of learning and teaching activities. This includes:
- Classroom observation;
- Development of assessment criteria;
- Design of inclusive curricula;
- Providing effective feedback;
- Etc.
This section offers a selection of resources to support peer review activity, in addition to examples of how various models have been implemented both within Cardiff University and across other institutions.
