Benchmarking your modules
About this topic
This topic focuses on examples of benchmarking of modules to sector or professional criteria such as The UK Quality Code for Higher Education (QAA) and the UK Professional Standards Framework (UKPSF), learned societies, and regulatory professional bodies.
Benchmarking typically requires the alignment of course outcomes and learning outcomes with key descriptors published by the regulatory bodies. This theme therefore focuses on approaches people have used to ensure that they align their teaching with these requirements. Alignment can occur at the design stage for courses, but also require adaptation of courses to meet key criteria.
Examples of both proactive and reactive alignment will be shown here, as well as generic guidance for how to approach Benchmarking of courses from those who have experienced the process.
