Using the web browser extension to sign into MFA
Once you have set up the web browser authenticator, you can use this to sign into MFA in the Chrome, Edge or Firefox browsers.
When signing into MFA using the web browser extension, you will need to set the sign in method for Microsoft Office 365 to: Authenticator app or hardware token – code option.
You must have previously set up the web browser extension.
Signing in using the web browser authenticator involves 3 steps:
- Sign in via the Microsoft Office 365 application.
- Switch to the browser authenticator to obtain a code.
- Return to the login prompt and paste or type this code.
